Road.lk Android app version 1.02 has been released. With the following feature additions and bug fixes

  • Map markers can now be dragged. This makes it easier to pin point the location when searching for traffic alerts or when creating a new traffic alert.
  • Fixed a bug which caused connectivity problems on devices running on Jelly Bean (4.2)
  • Traffic search (localized alerts) sometimes returned inconsistent results and this has been fixed.
  • The font size of the places auto complete drop down list has been increased along with the spacing between rows making it easier to select the right location with a tap.

One complaint we received was that the places auto complete feature did not always return an accurate response. We rely on the Google Places API for this auto complete feature. That means the exact list of place names in the drop down is not in our control. The new feature makes it possible to select the nearest position and then drag the marker to get a more accurate result.

Another complaint with auto complete was that the small font size sometimes made it difficult to select the proper entry specially on devices with smaller screen. We hope you find it easier to use now due to the increased font size and the extra spacing between rows.

The road.lk app is free GPS Tracker and Traffic Alert system and it can be downloaded from the Google Play Store.

We thank you once again for your valuable feedback.
