Roads that will be closed for secretary Kerry's visit

United States Secretary of State, John Kerry is scheduled to arrive in Sri Lanka today at 7:45am. He is the most senior US official to visit the country since the visit of Colin Powell in 2005. Several roads will be closed for the event with the first closure being the circuitous route from the Airport to Galle face that's usually followed by foreign dignitaries. This and other roads that will be closed today are plotted on the map below.
- Katunayake expressway, Baseline Road, Horton Place, Green Path and Galle Road 7:45 to 8:30
- Galle Face center road and Galle Road Kollupitiya 12:20 - 12:30
- Kollupitiya to Kelani Raja Maha Viharaya (via Horton Place) 14:00 - 14:30
- Kelaniya to Galle Face (via Horton Place) 15:00 - 15:30

It has been pointed out by Namini Wijedasa that Colin Powel had already tendered his resignation as Secretary when he visited Sri Lanka after the Tsunami. Thus technically this could be the first such visit since the 1970s.
